Discover Your Child’s
Potential and Abilities

1st Grade - 5th Grade

At PCA Seoul,
our elementary program takes an intentional and individualized approach to learning.
We are committed to deeply knowing each student, allowing us
to provide tailored instruction and build a strong academic foundation
that prepares them for success in middle school, high school, and beyond.

Personalized Approach

Our elementary program implements the Daily Five literacy framework in Language Arts. This approach empowers the students to learn how to independently work whilst still getting levelized instruction with their teachers.

Daily Five Literacy Framework

The Daily Five allows the personalization of writing, speaking and reading goals to each student, empowering them to explore their own potential.

ITBS Testing

Elementary students take the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) once a year to gauge their abilities in the core subjects including Math, Science and Language Arts.

IXL Program

PCA Seoul uses IXL, an online program child’s learning pace.
It helps students review what they’ve learned, strengthen weak areas, and challenge themselves with new concepts—all in a fun and engaging way.

Accelerated Math Program

Our students participate in the Accelerated Math program to strengthen their problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Elementary School Life

  • Academics

Bible curriculum highlights the Old and New Testaments, including the creation through the promised land, and the gospels through Acts and the early church.

Language arts curriculum provides a robust approach to phonemic awareness, phonics, comprehension, and fluency. By 3rd and 4th grade, students expand to word study, vocabulary, gathering and verifying information, and understanding essential parts of literature. Students begin with learning handwriting, grammar, spelling, and composition. Later, they expand to both cursive and manuscript handwriting skills, spelling rules, and dictation skills.

Math focuses on number recognition, one-to-one correspondence, basic geometry, and number sense. Counting, time, money, data collection, sensible prediction, creating and adding to patterns, along with addition and subtraction, create a strong understanding of math concepts. Students progress to learn beginning decimals, basic fractions, graphing, and multiplication and division facts to 12. And further expand to percentages, algebraic rules, and complex number sense.

For STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering,  and Math), students use iPads to enhance classroom instruction. In addition, students participate in weekly STEM sessions in the STEM lab and the science curriculum is supported and enhanced by STEM.

  • Enrichment

At PCA Seoul, students experience a well-rounded education that extends beyond the classroom.

They regularly participate in Music, Art, Library, and Physical Education classes, and enjoy daily recess that fosters creativity, friendship, and joyful play.

Each year, students take part in multiple field trips designed to enrich their learning and connect classroom lessons to real-world experiences.

In addition, students have the opportunity to participate in special performances such as the Christmas Concert and other school-wide celebrations, where they can showcase their talents and celebrate our vibrant school community.

  • Worship

At PCA Seoul, our AXIS chapel takes place once a month on Wednesdays, the heart of the week.
It is a special time when our entire school community—students, faculty, and staff—comes together to worship, sing, and hear God’s Word.

Through AXIS, we seek to center our week and our hearts on Christ. Students are encouraged to grow in their faith, reflect on biblical truth, and live out what they learn in their daily lives.

More than just a gathering, AXIS is a cornerstone of who we are as a Christ-centered learning community. It reminds us that education at PCA Seoul is not only about academic excellence, but also about nurturing hearts and shaping lives for God’s purpose.
